Yadira Rengifo owns and runs Floor Sanding and Polishing Solutions in Sydney's inner west, and is now in her second year as a member of the Bona Certified Contractor Program. The National Construction Code (NCC) states that the slip-resistance for treads and nosing of new domestic stairs need to meet strict anti-slip criteria. This requirement also applies to all new and existing stairs in commercial buildings. In accordance with AS4586, interior stair treads must have a slip-resistance finish or a slip-resistance nosing strip. The classification required is a minimum P3 or R10 rating.
